Tailor a CV to a specific job -
it is vital to ensure the script is relevant to each job application, rather than sending the same generic CV.

Keep it simple -
it should be easy to read and use active language. Two pages of A4 is enough with a mini profile included in the first half page of the CV.

Include key information -
personal details, including name, address, phone number, email address and any professional social media presence should be clear. A date of birth is no longer needed, owing to age discrimination rules. A photo is only essential for jobs such as acting and modelling, otherwise it is a matter of choice.

Showcase achievements -
offer evidence of how targets were exceeded and ideas created, but always be honest.

Check and double check -
avoid sloppy errors, take a fresh look the next day and ask for a second opinion from a trusted friend or colleague.

Civil Enforcement Officers
Bedfordshire


Responsible for providing an efficient and effective service of parking enforcement in order to minimise vehicles parking in contravention, through the issue of penalty charge notices. The successful candidates will provide this service in accordance with the council’s objectives and policies. Full training will be given to the successful candidate, this will include on the job training and a level 2 award for parking enforcement officers. Offers subject to a satisfactory standard DBS check. Locations: Thorn Turn, Houghton Regis or Sandy Depot, Sandy - please state your preferred location in your application. Hours: 37 hours per week (Please note that you’ll work a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off, on a rolling 8-week rota, with weekend working (with enhancement) a mixture of early and late shifts between 7am and 9:30pm). Part time hours also considered. Please state your preferred days / hours as part of your application. Salary: £26421 - £28770 per annum. Start date: ASAP.

Consultant

Orpington


Experienced Sales Consultant to work with a renewable energy solutions provider in Orpington, Kent on a full time basis, 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday. The role is office based with occasional event and client visits required. The purpose of the role would be to generate new business for the company by liaising with potential new clients, maintain existing relationships and assist junior members of the sales team. Basic annual salary: £30,000 - £35,000 plus commission, scope to increase base salary against agreed KPI's Invoice and sales for the year. There is potential to also have a company car which will be linked to the KPI's, the candidate will need a driving licence and ideally, they will already have access to a vehicle. Worker

Working collaboratively with young people and their carers / families in order to assess their needs as required. Building effective relationships between both parties, to elicit their needs and views and promote participation in decision making. Supervisory and assessment making skills are essential. Candidate must have permanent right to work in the UK and own a car as some travel for visitations will be involved around the borough. The role will initially be office based but as the year progresses there will be possibility to work increasingly from home. Must have completed Social Work qualification within the last 4 years and must be able to be registered or is registered with social work England. Candidates awaiting degree results will also be considered. Hours: 8:45am - 5:20pm, Monday to Friday. Salary: £33,024 per annum - £35,745 per annum. Start date: early September 2024.

Local Authorities in Greater London


Various levels of experienced Business Support and PA staff required to work on 3 – 12 month temporary contract with various local authorities in Greater London. Full time (36 hours) and part time (30 hours or less) positions are available with salaries starting at London Living Wage and upwards dependant on the requirements of the role.   Temporary Mailroom Operatives
Central London


Required 8 to 40 hours (1-5 days) per week to work at various sites in Central London. Hours can vary between: 7am – 4pm, 8am – 5pm, & 9am – 6pm. Would suit experienced staff as well as students looking to work during college/university breaks. Rate of pay: £11.44 per hour.


  Corporate Receptionists
Greater and Central London


Required at various shared office spaces, residential and council buildings across London both on a full time or part time temporary basis. Corporate experience is desirable but not essential. Dress code is smart, corporate office attire. Receptionist are required on a constant basis but must be flexible with regards their availability. Hours required: 8am – 5pm, 9am – 6pm, 7am – 7pm (subject to variation). Rate of pay: £11.44 - £12 per hour (dependant on assignment).
